Let's talk about Google+ (Google plus)

Hey guys. How you doing?

Took some time yesterday to know what was really going on with the much hyped Google+, a new social networking site from search engine giant, trend setting company in world mobile market through it's Android, email and blog service provider and many more other products' owner - Google.

Being a Google fan myself, I couldn't resist to take all the tours and promotions that were ongoing for quite sometime. Am happy with the development and the idea behind it. Well, that's my personal opinion.

So want to know what is Google+ all about and why Google calls it a "Project"?

Go ahead.

Yes, as you might be well knowing by know, search engine giant Google has just announced its Google+ social networking platform that's set to rival Facebook. That is quite a big plan. Now we know that, Google doesn't have a strong history about it's tryouts in social networking services (both Google Wave and Google Buzz failed to meet the company's expectations). But now, the big question is should Mark Zuckerberg worried? Lets just take a peepy look at Google+ to see what it has in store for us.

By doing a little bit of a research, I got to know the details a bit closer. First and foremost, development of this project is codenamed "Emerald Sea". And it is believed that Google+ is basically Google's latest attempt in creating a social network. The company calls it a "project", rather than a "product", perhaps to avoid comparison with its less successful social products. Google reckons that current online networks (there were no names mentioned under this, so bear with my lacking of in-depth research) simply do not cut the mustard and that's why it's launching its own version. I visited Google's official blog to find out what ways of seeing the Google would like from the people towards it.

"Today, the connections between people increasingly happen online. Yet the subtlety and substance of real-world interactions are lost in the rigidness of our online tools.

"In this basic, human way, online sharing is awkward. Even broken. And we aim to fix it."

The first reactive question that I had in mind: Is Google following the paths of Nokia and Microsoft, who are slamming Android and its fans? Well, to discuss about that, we would want a new post here. But, that's another story.

We learn that Google focuses on this to bring down Facebook from its throne, by making every existing Google product socially compatible. Now, that's a smart idea, isn't? But Google certainly has a lot to work with, including Picasa, Gmail and Google Maps and information and functions from all of these will be integrated into the Google+ experience so that you don't have to sign into different services to share your photos and let your mates know what you're up to. The blog said.

We all use or have used products from Google in one way or the other at some point of time. How would it be to have all of them together at one place at the click of a button?

That was the best feature I really liked about Google plus, besides the innovative profile fields.

Each Google+ profile will centre around whats called the "Stream", which is essentially the same thing as our Facebook's news feeds - where all of our info and updates are rounded up and constantly updated. The Stream will be joined by four core elements - Circles, Hangouts, Huddle and Sparks - with Google pointing out that these are the starting block for future developments.

The Stream will look something like this -

Google+ can currently only be accessed with a special Field Trial invitation, which Google has been sending out at random to Gmail users. Who knows, you may be one among them, check your inboxes now, friends. And it seems that there is no set date for a full launch, but we would guess that it won't be too long before Google+ goes live to everyone. In the meantime, you can check out the demo, as long as you have a Google ID. Yes, really!

Overall, I feel that Google+ looks good and the new features, especially circles, could just make the difference between it being a Facebook killer or another Google social failure. Nobody knows that, for now. But, do we really need another social network? Do we really need as much control of who we share what with as Google thinks? It might look just fine on the surface now, but getting to it for now from the conventional-made Facebook profiles might not seem real charming!!

Facebook & Mark Zukerberg

The web has already questioned why Google has chosen to soft launch a product that isn't entirely ready yet. Yes, lots of people have put their thoughts on forums and blogs! With most online services launched in beta form prior to a full roll out, the answer seems blind-fully obvious - so that it can fix bugs and put out any kinks before the project goes global.

Getting people to shift over from Facebook is going to be a tough one. Early adopters and tech fans may well want to try out the new project asap, but getting reluctant Facebook newbies to make the switch isn't going to be easy. The inevitably long transition period while users wait for their entire social groups to migrate from one service to another could be a step that the public just aren't willing to make, not when that already have a social platform that already works.

Facebook.

But I wish that come true. Soon.

Anyway, we'll find out more when Google+ goes public and starts on a mass platform, don't we?

So, what do you think guys?
Do you want a Google+? Do you think Google really has future with their last hope on capturing the social networking market?

Feel free to share your thoughts about the hype.

Thanks.

Taking back a little interest

Hello dear readers.

So how are you people? I guess you are great and having good times, possibly rocking?

Well, talking about me, I am doing good too. And I am write this post with a little hesitation because of my lack of touch in writing. However, I have taken the privilege of giving you guys some trouble. So bear with me (Laugh) !!

Its was too late that I wrote here, its been almost 7 months.

And the reasons for my taking such long vacation? I might credit them to some busy schedules at college, and also due to my nature of having a variety of interests in things that are too different. I mean to say that I get attracted to learning about a particular stuff, say about snorkeling your jeep, and after that, musical composing may have struck me with delight (I do not like to mention that I suck at them, please).

I remember I started writing here in this blog last year, with anything that I felt I wanted to. Last year was good year for me, for I've had the chances of many satisfactory moments - which I believe is enough to live a good life. I mean, we can always have some soul searching right? Um, that may seem a big term, I will prefer "Get to know your needs to be happy", as a suitable and simple verbal expression. I do not intend to divert my goals on that itself, though.

And yet, its hard to figure out for someone who is as jobless as me to really know what I want from "Life". I also happen to have thoughts that say "Do not be philosophical, just stop this non sense". I believe that's true, I hope so. Its not about what anyone can achieve, but the way he/she has to achieve it with. For that matter, the 'anyone' can be simply anyone who is on his way to do his stuff, and I feel that the ways of his doing widely affects the other things such as his future, impression, environment, etc.

Improvising the idea of life, we come to halt right to the place from where we started our journey. Well, who would have thought that? If we are to carefully realize what the above words mean, we would have felt surprise/joy/sadness/disappointment or anything depending upon the situation. Totally we conclude into an unchangeable thought that "Life has nothing much to offer". Well, there you go! That's also one hell of a thing eligible to claim the tag "Achievement". I do not say this with experience of my own or the others around me, but this is what strikes any mind that's unable to carry itself further to broaden its degree of thinking.

So, we could finally see ourselves return to what we did before these changes took place. The idea is not to change, but to lead through our paths with unavoidable changes. I really do not know what I have got to conclude, but nevertheless, are we always expected to have conclusions?

But then again, who am I to say otherwise, my friend?

Sometimes people deserve more. They deserve better. And we can't take control of our lives, at least totally. Sometimes it becomes the best choice to leave things as they are without having to strain ourselves by analyzing them, by measuring them, by feeling them. Hell, feelings sometimes become our enemies more than our friends.

Anything can happen to anyone, and that is why we need friends to share them, care for us, love us, take care of us, show us some light in the places filled with fearful darkness, like our own minds and hearts. I intend to put out everything from my heart here after what happened to one of my friends.

With no particular reason, I write this to share what could be the different effects we might have on our 'Lives' in a game. A game played by time. And we sure might have something lose if we don not fear it and change ourselves in order to get up to our feet and going.

Finally, I just hope that you people have already got in your shoes and chasing your dreams, trying to make them your achievements, your "Satisfactions', and your strengths!

And I really wish you do! Life is, and will be good, always.

Take care.

Your friend.
